5 Things To Ask When Buying Pallets

When sourcing pallets for your business, getting the right information is crucial. To achieve this, it’s essential to ask the right questions of your pallet provider. Here’s a guide to help you navigate this process smoothly:

1. What Material Pallets Do You Have?

Although most pallets are wood, some people may require or request a different material for their processes. This is why it is important to know not only what pallet you are looking for, but what they offer. We offer both wood pallets and plastic pallets. To take it deeper, we have new wood pallets, reconditioned pallets, and combo pallets. This allows budget, production, sanitization, and aesthetic requirements to be met easily.

2. What Pallet Treatments Do You Provide?

There are a multitude of treatments a pallet can undergo for various reasons. These services can be discussed at length during the quoting process to ensure that the one that fits your production process is selected. Some of the services we provide include the ISPM-15 standard heat treatment, Stenciling, color coding, mold guards and chambered pallets. These services have the ability to mix and match on top of other pallet customizations to find the exact one to smoothly integrate into your supply chain and production operations.

3. Do You Provide Drop-Trailers?

Drop trailers can greatly improve the process a facility has in place. It provides extra space to ensure pallets can be properly sheltered from the harsh outside elements when necessary. They also allow for pallet providers to easily take away and discard of any pallets that are not longer in a desirable condition.

4. Do You Offer A Recycling Program?

If you do enroll in our drop trailer program (and even if not) you may notice your facility accumulates a lot of pallets they no longer fit your working conditions. This may be a greta time to start a pallet recycling program. This allows your facility to reduce its carbon emissions and reach and certain ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) goals.

5. What Else Do You Provide?

Many times people assume pallet providers just provide one thing or one type of pallet. To ensure you are maximizing your vendor look into all their services and products. For example, we sell lumber at great prices. Being a lumber provider helps us to support the construction, woodworking, etc. industries with their production. We are also a crate provider. We have the crates needed for shipping, display, exporting and more.

By asking these key questions, you can ensure you receive a competitive quote and the correct pallets that meet your operational requirements. Clear communication with your pallet provider is essential for establishing a mutually beneficial partnership and optimizing your supply chain processes.
